onX
strategy, direction, and design

Where the pavement ends, onX begins…

As the in-house Art Director at onX outdoor and mapping company for that period, my impact on the organization was multifaceted and significant. By assisting with the rebrand from onXmaps, along with working on the umbrella brand as well as their Hunt and Offroad verticals, I played a crucial role in shaping the company's visual identity and ensuring that our messaging resonated with our target audience…even if my proposed tagline of ‘find an (e)X you actually want to see’ was rejected in favor of ‘Know Where You Stand’. Oh well, can’t win ‘em all.

This wasn’t just pushing pixels around. It was about building a brand that outdoor enthusiasts could trust—whether they were tracking elk in the backcountry or prepping their rig for Moab. My involvement in various projects, such as campaigns, creative strategy, pitch decks to secure series funding, UI design, print and digital ads, photography, apparel, packaging, and even a beer label (among others), showcased my versatility and ability to adapt to different mediums and platforms, ultimately contributing to the company's growth and success.
